SOME TECHNICAL NOTES ON THE WINE

GRAPE VARIETY & TERROIR

Sangiovese from the highest vineyards in Montepulciano.
A unique vineyard: “la Bruciata”.
Spontaneously grown vines, maintained like a monumental park.
Steep terrain, vines predominantly worked by hand.

HARVEST

End of September-October, full phenolic ripeness.
ONLY manual picking in crates.
Cluster selection directly in the vineyard: only first-choice grapes.

TRAINING SYSTEM AND YIELD

Tuscan cordons.
4500 vines per hectare.
60 quintals of yield per hectare.

WINEMAKING

Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Long macerations.
Aging: 12-18 months in large barrels made of Italian hardwood, hard and without aromas.
Refinement: 6-12 months in bottle.
Unfiltered and not clarified.
